In the last 24 hours I have read some of the most horrifying stories. Stories that nightmares are made of. And I walk away thinking what is happening to our world? When did be loose such respect for ourselves as humans? Why is life so undervalued, and why is the image of our Creator totally out of our minds?!
One story talked about how China's one-child policy was not only responsible for forced abortions, but also now we are seeing a mass increase in child sex trafficking as well as bride sales. Our own State Department in the United States has acknowledged that this one-child policy in China is responsible for building a demand for sex trafficking and forced prostitution. Women from Myanmar, Vietnam and Cambodia are being shipped in to marry Chinese men. With lures of better jobs for women, these women are manipulated into the prostitution ring.
The next three stories are all pro-life stories.
First on Winthrop University campus in South Carolina, students involved in the Socialist Student Union covered the grounds with wire coat hangers in a mockery of pro-life groups who had recently decorated the grounds with flags representing children lost to abortions. Months earlier a Pro-Choice group in D.C. decided to start selling gold wire hanger key chains to raise funds for Planned Parenthood.
The next story involves Ivy League school Yale denying Choose Life at Yale (CLAY6) membership with the Social Justice Network (SJN). The SJN at Yale is currently being lead by an individual in full support of abortion practices. The real zinger here is that CLAY used to be a "provisional” member of SJN, and they were active members within the organization.
The Final story is the most shocking and horrifying for me. It brings tears to my eyes just reading the story. At 4pm on April 23rd, Marion County Commissioners (Oregon) were alerted that the province of British Columbia was sending their aborted and miscarried babies to a plant in Oregon, and they had been burning them for energy. Oh................ it makes me shiver just typing this out...makes me physically sick. Thankfully Commissioner Janet Carlson has vowed to end this sickening practice and find out who knew and for how long.
Jeremiah 17:9 says, " The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?"
And isn't that where we are today?
Seriously who can understand any of the above stories....and friends; I am not making them up or exaggerating them. We live in such a graceless age................or is it that we don't truly know what Grace is?
We continue to see this disregard for life because we continue to disregard the one who made it.
God expects to adhere to Biblical standards when it comes to our world views. Now i am no saint I have had my own sins that I have had to struggle through.
The Key to overcoming these sinful mindsets lies here:
John 5:40 " Yet you refuse to come to me that you may have life."
"Love is Patient. Love is Kind.
Today is Good Friday. It's the day we silently remember what Christ did for us on the cross, how he fulfilled the Fathers plans to save mankind and offered Himself up until it was finished, tasting the essence of Hell in order to bridge the gap between us and the Father for eternity.
Today i read a story of an Iranian man who killed an 18 year old boy 7 years ago. He had gone before the Iranian justice system and had been given the death sentence. According to sharia law, a family member of the murdered can assist in the hanging by pushing the chair out from underneath the murderer and initiate the final breaths.
But something amazing happened when this mother got up to the platform. She slapped the murderer across the face, and then proceeded to allow her husband to untie the noose from his neck. She stated boldly that she had "forgiven him".
What wondrous love is this? Though this lady be of Muslim faith, she has the heart of a Christian and exemplifies the teachings of Christ when he taught us to love and forgive one another.
How fitting that this should take place on Good Friday, that those who may read it, some of whom are not beleivers, this family included, may come to know the Lord soon.

Moment of truth. I have an addiction.
"Hello my name is Jordan Debbink and I am a freedom-loving controller."
It's a very common addiction, though we often are not aware of it until someone else says that we are. I am even more responsible than most because I have known about my addiction for a long time....and yet done nothing to curb the cravings.
Here is how it works. I begin with a new situation come in calmly, respectful and normally dormant in my abilities. I observe for a time, getting to know the crowd i am socializing amongst and as time continues i store aware valuable pieces of information that later i can use.
Once i have spent the time understanding people....and truly that is what i am doing, i then plow forward with a really passionate well prepared plan to introduce a new project,..or assist someone who is in need. Up to this point i truly believe my motives are truly sincere and only in an attempt to advocate.
My subconscious at this point takes over and i lose my ability to not micro manage, control the situation.
I probably sound pretty normal to you,... something that we all struggle with at times,... and yes you are right. But as i have said before, i am so aware that i do this and yet i do not attempt to stop.
I am a freedom lover. I follow no party affiliation when it comes to politics, i believe no Christian church is better than the rest, and i do believe our country is a land still full of opportunity.
I do expect people follow their heart and be conscientious when they vote on issues. I expect churches to cater to all demographics, and preach Biblical teachings and be less concerned over appearance and numbers. And when you make your new life in this country i expect you follow the laws that are set up to do so.
So am i a freedom loving controller?
