In May 2013, i embarked on an adventure that i had hoped to achieve for some time. I started writing my first book. it was an incredible experience and through it i saw and learned so much.
Then in June 2014, i released my first self published book, "Heroes of Faith". It came from a place of pure encouragement. My hope was that as the 2014 gubernatorial elections came to fruition, the book could help guide hearts and minds to choose candidates that would benefit their state and the nation as a whole. Faithful leaders who stepped up in confidence and served out of duty to America's greatness.
Now here we are, October 18th and those elections are but 3 weeks away. In my book i wrote about 3 governors whom are currently running for re-election. Scott Walker of Wisconsin and his fight against union bullies, Nikki Haley and her fight to eradicate Obamcare from her state, and Mary Fallin and her push for energy independence.
As we come to our voting place on November 4th, my hope is we will remember 3 things.
1. America can only remain the greatest nation if we elect leaders. If we do not lead, then someone else will. They will not hold our values, nor respect them. We will become insignificant in their eyes. We must lead!
2. We must get beyond our own party biases. We must extend across the aisle to work together on a variety of issues. this does not mean we must sacrifice our morals or beliefs, but simply that finding solutions to today's political issues are more imperative than conference rooms stifled by partisanship. In my book, "Heroes of Faith" i point out several governors who did this and successfully.
3. There is no substitute for hope. It is the most powerful of human emotions, and yet the easiest to lose. But if we have hope, we can persevere in the hardest of times.
November 4th, 2014.
