This week, Congressional Democrats blocked the passage of the reauthorized Trafficking Victims Protection Act in an attempt to discourage the complete lack of funding for the hypothetical abortions these victims may "need".
The law holds sex traffickers responsible to the fullest extent by imposing federal penalties. It also supports the victims of sex trafficking by funding detection programs and by providing additional services to victims of this crime.
The language that is being used to halt the progression of this bill was in the bill last year when it passed through committees with bi-partisan support, and yet it is the democrats only reasoning. They demand that Americans pay for abortions.
So the exploitation of human trafficking victims must continue at the hands of Congressional Democrats all for the cost of what a majority of Americans believe to be an act of murder? That seems to be the raw truth of the matter. No way to sugar coat the reality.
With nearly 27 million people worldwide affected by human trafficking, slavery, and prostitution, it may be time for Congressional Democrats to stand down on this one. Who are they helping by encouraging this behavior?
